Background
This partnership was established by seven boroughs in south-west London. It was originally formed in October 2003, in response to the Government's new regional approach to the allocation of housing resources and the setting up of the London Housing Board (now replaced by the Mayor's housing forum). It is one of 5 housing sub-regions in London (the others being East, North, South-East and West).
At first the Partnership's aim was to develop a coherent sub-region with its own housing strategy, which could play a major role in achieving the objectives set out in the London Housing Strategy. Since then, the Partnership's role and work has developed considerably.
